Am I a candidate?

Candidacy is determined by many factors, including the skin’s response to UV light. Prior to treatment all clients will undergo a consultation where a certified laser practitioner will gauge your skin type and determine if you burn/tan easily and if treatment is suitable for you.

Is it safe?

Yes! Our equipment is FDA and manufacture approved for the treatment of esthetic concerns. Each handpiece has integrated contact cooling to help keep the skin cool before, during and after each pulse. Mandatory eye wear will be worn by all people in laser treatment room and when the laser is in operation. The certified professionals at Newity Laser take safety very seriously and will always treat your skin type and conditions with the appropriate parameters to ensure a safe and effective treatment.

How many treatments will I need?

For hair removal, most clients will respond anywhere from 4-10 treatments. This will depend on how cautiously you will need to be treated. Typically, those with higher concentrations of pigment in their skin will require more sessions. Clients should expect approximately a 20-30% decrease in hair growth after each session.

For IPL Photofacials (skin rejuvenation) a 6 series treatment plan is usually recommended.

Can I get a test shot before I decide to proceed with treatment?

Absolutely! We always perform a test shot on each client prior to treatment. New clients or curious parties are always welcome to come in for a complimentary consultation and test area.

What do I need to do pre-treatment?

  • No waxing, plucking or threading 6 weeks prior to treatment (hair removal).
  • No sun exposure 24-48 hours prior to treatment, including tanning beds.
  • Have area to be treated shaved and clean.

What should I expect post-treatment?

  • 24-48 hours after treatment: may have some redness and hotness to the skin and possibly a slight sunburn feeling. There may be minor swelling of the skin.
  • Avoid excessive sweating, hot water or chlorine.
  • It may take up to two weeks before the hair is actually shed.
  • Clients should notice a 20-30% decrease in hair after each treatment.

After treatment, clients will be provided a Post-Treatment Care Plan to help achieve maximum results and instructions on how to care for your skin after treatment.

How can I obtain effective results?

Your treatments will be most effective if they are scheduled properly spaced and consistent. Various areas of the body have different growing cycles and your appointments should be scheduled in accordance to the growth cycle of the particular treatment area.

For Photofacials, each treatment can be anywhere from 28-45 days apart.

It is very important to care for your skin before and after your sessions, this includes wearing sunblock and avoiding direct sun exposure.
